What a Business Website Costs in Cape Coral and Fort Myers in 2026
Three published tiers, five local price lists, and the questions that separate a $1,000 site from a $10,000 one.

A small-business website in Cape Coral or Fort Myers costs between $1,000 and $10,000 to build in 2026 if you hire a local studio, plus $20 to a few hundred dollars a month to keep it running. WBX Creative's published Quick Launch tiers are $1,000, $2,000, and $4,000, and my full design-and-build range on the pricing page runs $2,000 to $10,000 and up. The Fort Myers and Naples shops that publish prices land in the same territory: a five-page site at $2,450, custom builds from $1,500 on a page dated December 2024, a basic service site at $2,500 to $4,500.
The number that matters is not the build price. It is the build price plus 12 months of whatever comes after, divided by what the site actually has to do for you. Both numbers are below, taken from prices Southwest Florida shops publish on their own sites as of September 2026 and from mine, which you can check on the Quick Launch page.
How to think about it
Three things move the price more than page count: who writes the words, who supplies the pictures, and what has to happen after someone fills out the form. A five-page site where you hand over finished copy and photos is a layout job. The same five pages where the studio interviews you, writes the copy, sources images, and wires the form into a CRM is a different product at a different price.
The market sorts itself into five layers, and every quote you get will sit in one of them.
| Layer | What you get | Published range, September 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Do it yourself on a builder | A template, your time, a monthly bill | Squarespace Basic $19/mo, Wix Light $17.77/mo, Shopify Basic $29/mo, all on annual billing |
| Freelancer on a template | Someone else's time on the same template | $800–$2,500 (Sparkler Digital, Naples) |
| Tiered studio build | A fixed scope at a fixed price | $1,000–$4,000 (WBX Quick Launch); $2,450–$3,495 (Quenzel, Fort Myers) |
| Custom design and build | Information architecture, custom UI, CMS, on-page SEO | $2,000–$10,000+ (WBX); $2,500–$7,500 (Sparkler) |
| Agency | Project management, several specialists, longer timelines | $8,000–$25,000+ (Sparkler); $3,000–$30,000+ (WebFX national guide) |
The builder route is common, and it is not wrong. It is just a different trade: your evenings for their invoice.
What does a $1,000 website include?
At WBX Creative, $1,000 buys the Essential tier: up to three pages, responsive design, basic SEO setup, contact form integration, and one round of revisions. The "Ideal for" line on the specials page names freelancers, home services, solo pros, and new ventures. That is how the page pitches the tier, not a census of who buys it.
What it does not include is more instructive:
- Copywriting. You supply the words. The only Quick Launch tier that includes writing is Premium Power, at 1,000 words.
- A logo or identity. That is a separate line, $750 to $3,000 and up. If you do not have one, read why a logo system matters more than a logo before you buy either.
- Photography. None of the local price lists in the next section lists it as included.
- E-commerce. A Shopify build is its own range, $2,000 to $15,000 and up, on top of Shopify's $29 a month.
- Hosting. $20 a month on its own, or included in a care plan.
- Third-party costs. My published terms exclude third-party costs: fonts, stock, hosting, ad spend, print, and software. Ask any shop where those land.
A $1,000 site, then, is a well-built three-page site using your words and your photos, launched fast. For a plumber, a mobile detailer, or a consultant with one service and one phone number, that is the whole job.
What do local shops charge?
These are prices the shops publish on their own sites, read on September 22, 2026 unless noted. I am reporting the numbers, not grading the work.
| Shop (city) | Published price | What the page says is included |
|---|---|---|
| WBX Creative (Cape Coral) | $1,000 / $2,000 / $4,000 tiers; $2,000–$10,000+ custom | 3 / 5 / 8 pages; SEO setup scales with tier; integrations 0 / 1 / 3; copy only at $4,000 |
| Quenzel Marketing Agency (Fort Myers) | 5-page $2,450, 10-page $3,495, plus hosting $39.99 or $49.99/mo after month one, billed annually | Client-supplied copy, one contact-form page, homepage slider, up to eight photos per page; extras include SSL $99, theme $89, accessibility $499/yr |
| Gulf Shore Web Design (Fort Myers, page dated December 2024) | Custom from $1,500; 5-page site at $0 down on a 6-month minimum; $250/mo SEO plan that includes the site | Design, build, hosting, unlimited edits on the 5-page plan |
| Sparkler Digital (Naples, 2026) | Basic service site $2,500–$4,500, or $150–$250/mo | 5 to 8 pages including copy and local SEO structure; 3 to 6 weeks |
| Adore Design Co. (Cape Coral) | From $129/mo | Hosting, email, and updates included; 7-day turnaround |
| Webmasters Desktop (Naples, May 2025) | Build by proposal | Care plans $295, $495, $795/mo with managed hosting |
Some local agencies publish no prices at all. That is a legitimate choice for custom work, but it means you cannot compare them from your couch.
What moves the number from $2,000 to $10,000?
Scope you can count. My Growth-Ready tier at $2,000 adds up to five pages, full SEO setup, blog setup, branded icons, one platform integration, and two rounds of revisions. Premium Power at $4,000 goes to up to eight pages, advanced SEO optimization, performance tuning, analytics and tracking setup, one high-conversion landing page, up to three integrations, 1,000 words of SEO-optimized copywriting, and three rounds. Each step doubles the price, and the scope grows with it.
Integrations. A booking tool, a CRM, a payment processor, a review widget. Every integration is a place where two systems have to agree with each other and keep agreeing after one of them ships an update. Budget for each one, and ask who fixes it when it breaks.
Custom design. A tiered build is a fixed scope at a fixed price. A custom build starts with information architecture and custom UI design, which is why the pricing page's website line reads $2,000 to $10,000 and up rather than one number.
Words and pictures. The usual source of delay on a site build is content that has not arrived. If you cannot write it, pay someone to. Sparkler's tier includes copy; Quenzel's requires yours; mine includes 1,000 words at the top tier. Those are three honest ways to price the same problem.
The invisible technical layer. A site can look finished and be invisible. When I audited my own studio site on September 22, 2026, a site I had built myself in 2025, it had no robots.txt, no sitemap, no canonical tags, no structured data, and seven of 16 pages sharing one title because they were client-rendered with no metadata. Its portfolio served 194 MB of raw images. I fixed it in a day, and the checklist I used is public, but the point stands: ask what "SEO setup" means in writing before you pay for it.
What does it cost to keep a website running?
This is the number most quotes hide, and it is the one that compounds.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual billing | What is included |
|---|---|---|---|
| WBX hosting only | $20 | — | Hosting, or bring your own if it meets requirements |
| WBX Base Care | $50 | $40/mo | Premium hosting and SSL management, daily backups and uptime monitoring, monthly plugin/theme updates and performance checks, basic security monitoring and malware protection, standard support within 48 hours |
| WBX Growth Care | $300 | $240/mo | Everything in Base Care, monthly SEO health check and site speed optimization, one content update a month, Google Analytics and Search Console setup plus a quarterly performance summary, image optimization and compression |
| WBX Performance Care | $650 | $520/mo | Everything in Growth Care, up to three content updates a month, quarterly strategy call, monthly SEO optimization (on-page and technical), PPC or email campaign management (up to $500 ad spend), conversion rate optimization review every quarter, priority same-day support (business hours) |
For comparison, WebFX's 2026 maintenance guide puts a small-business site at $35 to $100 a month and an SMB at $125 to $500. Webmasters Desktop in Naples publishes $295, $495, and $795 tiers keyed to hours. Raw hosting without any care is cheap, as of September 2026: Vercel Pro is $20 per seat a month, Cloudflare Pages serves static sites free, WP Engine starts at $28 a month, Kinsta at $35, and SiteGround's shared plan is $2.99 promotional and $17.99 at renewal. Cloudflare's registrar sells domains at the registry price with no markup. Business email through Google Workspace Business Starter is $7 per user per month on an annual plan.
The trap is comparing a $20 hosting line to a $300 care plan as if they were the same product. One keeps the lights on. The other includes a person doing work on your site every month. Decide which one you are buying.
Mistakes I see
- Comparing build prices without the monthly. A $2,450 site with $39.99 hosting and a $2,000 site with $50 care cost about the same over two years. A $129-a-month site costs $3,096 over the same two years. None of those is wrong. Only one of them was compared honestly.
- Buying pages instead of a job. "Ten pages" is not a goal. "The phone rings from Cape Coral searches" is a goal, and it usually needs fewer pages and better ones.
- Designing the site before the identity exists. If the logo is a JPG from 2014, the site inherits every problem it has. Fix the identity system first, or budget for both.
- Assuming SEO is included because the word appears. My own site is the cautionary tale above. Ask for the list: sitemap, robots, canonicals, per-page titles, structured data, analytics.
- Not asking who owns what. The domain, the hosting account, the code, and the content should be yours or transferable to you. With any subscription-priced site, ask what you keep if you cancel.
- Paying hourly for a fixed thing. My hourly rate is $125 to $200, and Clutch's 2026 guide puts US agencies at $100 to $149 an hour. Hourly is for unknowns. A three-page site is not an unknown.
- Supplying nothing and waiting. The studio cannot launch what it does not have. Copy and photos are the client's homework unless you paid for them not to be.
What it costs / what to expect
Four common Southwest Florida situations, priced from the tables above.
| Situation | Build | Ongoing | Timeline |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo trade or consultant, one service, one phone number | $1,000 (WBX Essential) | $20–$50/mo | Days, not weeks |
| Established local shop, five pages, a blog, one integration | $2,000 (WBX Growth-Ready) or $2,450 (Quenzel 5-page) | $40–$240/mo | Days, not weeks (WBX); Quenzel publishes no timeline |
| Clinic, studio, or agency, eight pages, analytics, a landing page | $4,000 (WBX Premium Power) or $2,500–$7,500 (Sparkler custom) | $240–$520/mo | Days, not weeks (WBX); 3–6 weeks (Sparkler) |
| Online store | $2,000–$15,000+ (WBX Shopify) plus Shopify from $29/mo | $240–$520/mo plus card fees | Scoped per proposal |
Terms at WBX are 50% to start, 25% mid-project, and 25% at delivery, invoices Net 10, third-party costs billed separately.
Before you sign with anyone, including me, ask these eight questions and get the answers in the proposal:
- Who writes the copy, and what happens to the schedule if it is late?
- Who supplies the photos?
- Does the price include a sitemap, canonical tags, unique titles per page, structured data, and analytics?
- Which integrations are included, and who fixes them when a vendor changes something?
- What does the monthly cover, and what is billed hourly on top?
- Who owns the domain, the hosting account, the design files, and the code?
- What do I keep if I cancel?
- How many rounds of revisions, and what counts as a round?
Where to go next
If your situation matches one of the four rows above, the Quick Launch tiers are priced exactly as described here and the pricing page has the custom ranges. If it does not match, tell me what the site has to do and I will tell you which layer you are in, even when the answer is a $19 builder plan. You can read who is answering and look at the portfolio before you decide whether to trust the number.
Tell me what the site has to do
I will tell you what it costs, which tier it is, and whether you need one at all.
Start a conversationQuestions people ask
- How much does a small-business website cost in Cape Coral or Fort Myers?
- As of September 2026, a professionally built small-business website in Lee County runs about $1,000 to $10,000, plus $20 to a few hundred a month to host and maintain. WBX Creative's published Quick Launch tiers are $1,000, $2,000, and $4,000. Local shops that publish prices list a five-page site at $2,450, custom builds from $1,500 on a page dated December 2024, and basic service sites at $2,500 to $4,500.
- What does a $1,000 website include?
- At WBX Creative, $1,000 buys the Essential tier: up to three pages, responsive design, basic SEO setup, a contact form, and one round of revisions. It does not include copywriting, a logo, photography, e-commerce, or hosting, which is $20 a month on its own. A $1,000 site is a well-built three-page site using your words and your photos.
- How much does website hosting and maintenance cost per month?
- Hosting alone is about $20 a month. A care plan that adds backups, updates, monitoring, and some content work runs $40 to $650 a month at WBX Creative, and $295 to $795 at one Naples agency on a May 2025 price list. WebFX puts typical small-business maintenance at $35 to $100 a month. The difference is how much human work is included each month.
- Is a subscription website with no upfront cost a good deal?
- It can be, if you plan to keep it for years and want one bill. Local subscription plans published as of September 2026 start at $129 a month, so year one costs about $1,548 before the site is paid off. Before you sign, ask what you keep if you cancel: the domain, the design files, the content, and the hosting account.
- How long does it take to build a small-business website?
- Days to weeks for a templated or tiered build, and months for fully custom work. WBX Creative's Quick Launch tiers are described on the specials page as launching in days, not weeks. A Naples agency cites three to six weeks for a five-to-eight-page service site. Clutch's 2026 pricing guide puts the average reviewed agency project at seven months.
